Idea Factory
Here a some simple but effective ideas to help get the most from your website.
Choose the right domain name
Selecting the right domain name can make a big impact to the success of your website. Primarily, you need to ensure your domain name is search engine friendly. For example if you are a bakery in Smithfield, the optimum domain name would be something along the lines of smithfieldbakery.com.au.
Update your site regularly
As tedious as this may sound, updating your site regularly will ensure your customers know exactly what you have on offer. The more you improve your
website's performance and change your content,
the higher your rankings. That's because Google and other search engines recognise when you have made a changes to your site and want to recognise and list these changes.
These updates could include:
- special offers;
- changes to contact information;
- listing any new awards
or relative news; and
- job opportunities.
Constantly analyse your website and your competitors websites
This may sound like a repeat to the above info but its not. The more you improve your
website's performance and change your content,
the higher your rankings. Look at your competitors and get ideas. That's what they are doing too.
Get a Google Map on your site
Placing a Google Map on your site can assist both you and your customers. It assists customers by helping them find your location, and will provide you with an advantage in Search Engines who also use this as a key method of listing your location.
Tell people about your website
I travel around all the time and note that many businesses just dont tell us motorists about the fact that they have a website or provide email enquiries. If your shop is on a main road, why not include a banner or signwriting on your shop to let people know about your site? Who knows, someone might want to visit!
PS: I couldn't help but include the following. If you are not interested in promoting your website at your location but have some advertising space available, Web247 would be pleased to look at any advertising opportunities that can give us extra exposure. Please contact us.
Get a favicon on your site
A Favicon (short for Favourites icon) is the small little icon that appears when visitors save your site to their favourites. This is especially handy when people are tyring to find your site in their favourites folder.
It also appears in the Tab of many popular internet brosers including Internet Explorere and Mozilla Firefox. If your browser is compatible, you will note a star type icon as our Favicon.
(If you need some help with this feature, we can design and upload your Favicon for just $50 inc GST).
